This is a sample Brand Activation for Mars Foods/Skittles that I created, and was a Gold campaign winner in the 2018 APMC Awards.
The concept was that in the unpredictable Irish summer, it rains Skittles. Nicely surreal and perfect for Skittles' offbeat brand personality!
We generated social posts and videos showing 'evidence' of this rain and we incentivised people to participate, with a competition to forecast the Skittles showers and win cash prizes.
The campaign was a major success as
people all over Ireland posted their own fake evidence photos on social media, used our Snapchat filters and entered the competitions.
The campaign scored highly on recall and sales went up a massive 170%.
This is a 2017 activation for Bacardi that will be rolling-out across Europe, where we proposed using the bat from the Bacardi logo as the theme for Bacardi Halloween events.
The bat and Halloween are a perfect fit and we designed activation ideas that are built around this theme for premium, medium and small venues.
Bacardi's main competitor is Captain Morgan, where they have both a character (the Captain) and an iconography of the world of pirates.
With Bacardi, we developed a rival theme that is centered around the bat, the brand's Cuban heritage and the darker, more magical side of Halloween night. The activation is due to be launched in October 2017.
